Richard Fordham Tree Surgeons Ltd are involved in commercial arboriculture as well as domestic tree surgery. We are currently working for some of the counties leading property developers on a diverse range of projects including site clearance, tree removal, remedial tree surgery, stump grinding and hedge management.
Our staff are qualified with CSCS accreditation which enables us to carry out any sized project within the construction sector. We have a range of Mobile Elevated Working Platforms, including lorry mounted and track mounted MEWP’s to allow us to perform aerial operations safely, efficiently and cost-effectively. All our operators are qualified in IPAF and hold current aerial rescue certification.
Our client base includes property developers, facility management companies, comprehensive and private schools, large-scale tree felling for the worlds leading cricket bat willow merchant, local councils as well as many domestic clients.

Felling & Section Felling
Crown Reduction
The reduction in height and/or spread of the crown of a tree. Crown reduction may be used to reduce mechanical stress on individual branches or the whole tree, make the tree more suited to its immediate environment or to reduce the effects of shading and light loss.
Crown Thinning
Crown Cleaning
Crown cleaning is the removal of dead, damaged/broken branches and crossing branches. This is a key procedure in good tree maintenance, maintaining aesthetics and safety.
Formative Pruning
Crown Lifting
Crown lifting is the removal of the lowest branches. Crown lifting is an effective method of increasing light transmission to areas closer to the tree or to enable access under the crown. Also commonly used over roads, driveways and footpaths where lower branches may encroach.

Site Clearance
Site clearance can consist of the removal of anything from mature trees down to small shrubs, often carried out on development sites. We have an impressive range of rough terrain vehicles permitting us to gain access to almost any site and preform any clearance with minimum disturbance.
